Microblading is different from traditional tattooing in that no electrical machinery is used. We use a pen-like hand tool to insert the pigment into the skin in fine, feathered lines that mimic hair strokes. For Hybrid Brows and Ombre Mist Brows, we will use a permanent makeup machine (different from a body art tattoo gun) to perform microshading, or powder brows technique, to fill in sparse areas. This creates more definition and make brows look fuller and last longer than microblading alone.

The tattoo procedure itself takes approximately 30-40 minutes. However, on your first visit, please expect your appointment to last about 1.5-2 hours, which will include the consultation, brow design, and numbing time.

During your consultation, we will discuss your preferences. Then your artist will measure and  pre-draw the shape and design of your brows. If you have any photos of brows styles you like, please show them to us during this time. We will not begin the tattooing process until you have approved the color and design.

A topical numbing cream is applied to the brow area prior to the procedure to minimize discomfort. Most clients say that the tattooing process feels similar to having their eyebrows threaded or waxed. It helps to take a Tylenol about 30 minutes before the procedure. (Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen prior to the procedure as they can increase bleeding.)

The tattoo will look up to 30% darker and larger during the first week, until it fully heals. The day after the procedure is typically the most pronounced and swollen your brows will look during the healing phase. During the healing process, the tattoo may form a light scab or crust. It will start peeling after a few days but do not scratch or pick at it and you should avoid wearing brow makeup for one week.

The average healing time for microblading is 7-10 days, while Hybrid Brows and Ombre Mist typically take 10-14 days to heal. However, healing time can vary from person to person.

We will supply you with an aftercare lotion to apply while the tattoo heals. Please avoid putting anything else on your brows during the healing process.

You receive one free touch up after the initial procedure to perfect the color and shape. Your tattoo will not fade completely for approximately 2-3 years but we recommend scheduling touch-ups at least once a year (~every 9-12 months) to keep the color fresh. Oily skintypes, people who sweat frequently, and those who use exfoliants or retinoids often tend to need more frequent touch ups (~every 6-8 months). Yearly touch-ups will cost $350-450, depending on which service you select.

You can go right back to work after the procedure. However, your brow area may feel tender and slightly swollen for a few days. Avoid getting your brows wet or sweating for one week after the procedure. Avoid direct sunlight on your brows until they are healed.

To keep your tattoo looking its best, avoid getting it wet until it is completely healed. Always wear sunscreen SPF 30 or higher on the tattooed area when you are exposed to the sun (after it’s healed) or it will fade much faster. Avoid exfoliating the tattooed area and never wax your brows, as it can fade the tattoo. Don’t apply skincare with retinol, acids, acne medications, or use exfoliants or scrubs near your tattoo.

It’s against the law for us to tattoo anyone under the age of 18 in Georgia, even with parental consent. You must be 18 on the day of your appointment.
